The D and W series Ram 4x4 Trucks and Ramchargers/Traildusters built between 1972 and 1993 with leaf spring front suspension, had a steering box mount that was thin and under designed. As a result, these mounts would often crack and break, oversize tires would compound this problem. I have designed a new, very heavy-duty steering box mount for these trucks. My mount is made from 3/8" thick steel plate with heavy, CNC machined, bosses to support the steering box. New grade 10 Allen head style hardware is included for the steering box. The repair kit is bolted to the gearbox with the Allen hardware through countersunk holes then the assembly is bolted to the frame with the factory hardware. The 3 mount holes that attach the bracket to the frame are 9/16". Most of the earlier trucks are 1/2", so you will need to drill those out and purchase the correct hardware for these trucks. This new mount replaces the original part numbers 52037876 and 4333525. I stand behind the manufacture of this mount and if you break it, I will send you a new one.
